This is to serve notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth at its meeting on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 at 6:30 pm, at Yarmouth Town Hall, 400 Main street, approved a Development Agreement to permit a new residential development including a combined total of 56 dwelling units within two buildings at 236 Water Street.
How Will This Affect Me?
The approved Development Agreement permits a new residential development with 56 units. These changes will only apply to this property.
14 Day Appeal Period
Appeal of this Development Agreement may be made to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen days (14) of the publication of this notice. Any aggrieved person, the Provincial Director of Planning or Council of an adjoining Municipality may, within the prescribed appeal period, appeal the decision of Council to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.

The Town has received an application for a Development Agreement from Mirza Holdings Incorporated to Permit the development of two (2) residential multi-unit buildings at 236 Water Street (PID 90334103).
The Planning Advisory Committee of the Town of Yarmouth will be holding a Public Participation Meeting on October 3rd, 2023 beginning at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at 400 Main Street in Council Chambers at Town Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the proposed development, and for members of the public to ask questions and provide comments on the application. The property is currently zoned Waterfront Comprehensive Development (WCD) and was previously industrial lands however, it currently is vacant. The proposed development will consist of two (2) residential buildings consisting of a maximum of fifty-six (56) units, that will be built in two (2) phases. The proposed development will include community amenities such as, bicycle parking and, greenspace with seating and gardens.
