Consultation has concluded for this project - thanks everyone for your valuable input!
The Town of Yarmouth is initiating the third phase of its downtown streetscape improvement plan to realize the Downtown Blueprint released in 2010. Capital funding for the third phase of the project is approved and has moved to the “Design Phase”. This aspirational project is projected to begin construction in 2021.
The following phases of work have been completed to date:
Phase 1 Completion: Hawthorne Street was converted from a ‘service’ street for Main Street from Forest Street to Brown Street to a ‘full’ street with sidewalk, lighting, hardscaping, and softscaping in 2015. This complemented the Yarmouth Farmers’ Community Market located in the Barn at 15 Hawthorne Street. It is now a weekly, year-round community and visitor destination.
Phase 2 Completion: Projects completed in November 2017 were: Main Street streetscape bumpouts at three street intersections at Cliff Street, Brown Street and John Street on Main Street with nine bumpouts.
We are looking for your input. We want to know how you think the street can look and feel and what would make Main Street better for you! This is your chance to help us continue the design of Main Street and further beautify our downtown. Start by checking out the video and materials on the right, then add your thoughts and ideas using the tools below. Be sure to finish by taking the survey. Thanks for participating!
