Consultation has concluded
Planning staff presented recommended amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use By-law (LUB) to the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) on Tuesday, September 7th. The purpose of these amendments is to correct errors and omissions that the Planning staff recently discovered in both the MPS and LUB. Approving these amendments will provide both clarity and understanding in the intent of guiding policies and by-laws that regulate development within the Town. These recommended amendments can be reviewed in the Planner's report found under the "Documents" tab on the right hand side of this page. The Planner's report can also be found on the Town's Development Applications page through the following link: https://www.townofyarmouth.ca/current-applications.html
Since these recommended amendments include changes to the MPS, it is required by the Municipal Government Act that a Public Participation Meeting be scheduled for the matter. At the Public Participation Meeting, anyone from the public can register to speak or send a written submission to the PAC with any questions, concerns, or thoughts about the recommended amendments. Registrations to speak or send a written submission to PAC must be received no later than 4:30pm on Wednesday, September 29th. The public is able to register by contacting the Town's Planning and Development department through the following phone number or email: (902) 742-1505 and planningadmin@townofyarmouth.ca. The Public Participation Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5th, at 6pm and will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. A link to the meeting will be given upon registration.
A survey is also provided below with a list of questions to respond to in order to provide feedback on the recommended amendments. We encourage anyone from the public to participate in the survey to express their thoughts and concerns. Survey responses will be presented in the Public Participation Meeting for the PAC's recommendation and consideration to Town Council for decision.
