- Planned to begin on the week of May 12th
- Construction activities expected to last 4-6 weeks
- Installing two, new 180 kW EV Fast Chargers
- An EV Charging Site requires a new pole, pad mount utility transformer, and charging equipment (cabinets and transformer) in addition to the chargers
- Signage and lighting are included in the project
- The parking lot may be partially closed during parts of the construction, in particular the Hawthorne Street entry/exit
- Installation of the new pole may require traffic control for one day on Hawthorne Street
- Underground primary from new pole to pad mount will cross the sidewalk on Hawthorne Street
- For 2-3 days the sidewalk will be blocked off and cars will not be able to park in the leased, adjacent parking area
- Fencing off six parking spaces (which will become four EV Charging spaces)
- Contractor will need an area to leave machinery and equipment
- Six regular parking spaces will be converted to four EV fast charging spaces
- Any trenching/excavation will be restored, including new asphalt on for the new charging spaces
- New parking spaces are being proposed to maintain as much parking capacity as possible, besides adding EV fast charging spaces.
- Expected to be available for use by mid to late June
