What is the Hearing About?

This Public Hearing will address the following items:

1. 3 Commercial Street - Rezoning

The Town of Yarmouth has received a Land Use Bylaw amendment application to rezone 3 Commercial Street from Low Density Residential (R-1) to Medium Density Residential (R-2) Zone to allow for conversion of the existing 2-unit building into a fourplex. Council has approved to move forward with a Public Hearing prior to consideration of the proposed amendments.

2. 191 Main Street - Rezoning

The Town of Yarmouth has received a Land Use Bylaw amendment application to rezone 191 Main Street from Medium Density Residential - Main Street (R-2M) Zone to Downtown Commercial (C-1) Zone. Subject to Council approval of this application, the property would qualify for the Town of Yarmouth Tax Phase-In Program, currently available only within the Central Business District (Downtown). Amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and the Central Business District Improvement Plan Bylaw are also proposed to accommodate the rezoning.
