FAQ
What is the Smart City Challenge
The federal government recently announced a Canada wide challenge to all communities, regardless of size and borders. The intent of the challenge is for communities to lead the way in implementing data, connected technology, and innovative ideas which better their area. Applications can be multi-sectored and include ideas from research, private sector and government.
There are three prize opportunities which the Town of Yarmouth is eligible to compete.
1. $50 million to all communities regardless of size
2. $10 million to all communities with a population under 500,000
3. $5 million to communities with a population under 30,000
How will the Town decide which idea to submit?
