Public Participation Notice - Cancelled - Withdrawn by applicant

The Town has received an application for a Development Agreement from the owner of a lot on Caie Crescent (PID# 90193137) identified in the sketch below (Figure 1). The proposed Development Agreement seeks to allow for a two-storey accessory building within the front yard setback area as generally shown on the attached site plan (Figure 2).

In response, the Town of Yarmouth Planning Advisory Committee will be holding a Public Participation Meeting on May 6th, 2024, to seek public input on the application. The meeting will be held at 400 Main Street in Council Chambers at Town Hall. If you cannot attend, feel free to submit comments at https://getinvolvedyarmouth.ca/caie-crescent-development-agreement.

Why was this application submitted?

The Town of Yarmouth Land Use Bylaw requires buildings on lands zoned as Low Density Residential (R-1), which includes the subject lot, to be set back from the front lot line a minimum of 20 feet. The applicant seeks to reduce this setback by 50% (10 feet) for which Council approval is required. In addition, as the applicant intends on building a two-storey accessory building, including a garage suite on the upper storey, the applicant seeks to increase the allowable height for accessory buildings from 15 feet to 22.5 feet.

If you have questions regarding the application or the review process, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Martin Beck, RPP, MCIP
